Richard's party

Hope (or anyone else who would read this on the site),

I can feel your pain grrl. Really. It makes me feel... distant as well.
Not from you, but from the others around my school and work.
Like, take this guy in my art class. His name is Richard. Richard's father is very wealthy. Richard's father is a lawyer who worked for a local candy cane factory. And he gets a Vespa for his birthday.
Guy get whatever he wants. Sad.

I was invited to his party this weekend. He has a pool at his house. My family cannot afford the water for kool-aid, and this boy has a pool. It really hurt me inside. So I began to cry.

You think they would take some pity on me, for I see how they misused water for a birthday party while I have to eat rice cakes for lunch meals. But no, instead they laughed at me.

But Richard had an ice statue of some dog at his party. I wondered how the dog felt, posing for the ice statue. That made me sad as well, 'cause it's like they don't know how to not want - or do want - or want to want - or ask to want.... Well, you get the idea. If you don't, that makes me sad as well.

So I went to pet the dog. But then the statue broke! The head of the dog fell right off... Then I was holding a head of an ice dog... That really freaked me out, cause now it's like the dog is falling apart like the party and society around me. I mean, if Richard gets anything he wants, how is he ever going to know how a broken dog is going to feel?

It's like when my dog Doug broke last year. That made me sad too. So he wasn't a real dog, but he was my dog! Or rock... so Doug was a rock with a dog's head picture taped to the front of the rock. But my family couldn't afford a real dog. But then the head of the rock fell off too...

So, now I'm holding the head of an ice dog, and it's all melting and stuff. But that's OK, cause the water of the dog's head is hiding the tears I'm crying. Not outside, but inside. Otherwise, the other boys will be making fun of me. So the melting ice dog head is my pain, inside.

Just like my sister

My sister went to the prom as a Soph as well.
So unfair. And I know two other high school girls who went with a boy to his prom. And their both Sophs as well.
I'll join you in your crying.

Let's do it for the seals. The baby seals who are so sad. And those that club the baby seal. They are people too! Just trying to make a living - Clubbing the seals and all.

Reminds me of all those people just trying to work. Like the out-of-work kangaroo boxer trainers, the vacuum translators, Afician firewood collectors, and those old-sckoo villains. You know, in the black-and-white movies, who tied the girl on the train tracks before the guy in the white hat saves her - the evil guys with the evil laugh and long mustaches. What ever happended to those guys? I liked their hats.

I blame Disney. But don't let them hear that.... They have ears everywhere! 8(

We all just trying, man. Keepn' it real. Now go enjoy some baby seal meat.
----
Chai! Release your inner Emo.
