Hope Is Emo

Hm. Reading on the front page of this site is says "Remember to send your questions to hopeisemo@gmail.com". So do they want suggestions on how to cheer Hope up, or questions for Hope to answer? And if they want questions shouldn't this site be AskaEmo.com?

Oh wail! wail! wail!
What bitter dreary drudgery this bleak life is.
The only things that cheers me up is the optimistic upbeat poetry of buried masters like Poe. So here I have for you a presentation of my favourite poem (or Poe’m) by Edgar Allan.

Eldorado

Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.

But he grew old--
This knight so bold--
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow--
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be--
This land of Eldorado?"

"Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied,--
"If you seek for Eldorado!"
